Welcome to TWIGS at home
Over the next few weeks we will be preparing and planting the garden in school and indeed we made a start yesterday in school!
I will be adding information about what you can plant or indeed grow from foods you already have at home and bringing into this our ECO schools ethos!
Now the weather is warming up it's time to think about getting your vegetable plots ready after winter by clearing any weeds and preparing the soil by adding some compost or rotted manure.
On this page we will be looking at how to grow vegetables using recycled items to plant seeds into and what can be grown from vegetables you already have and can regrow from scraps!

T.W.I.G.S. - Together We Improve Green Spaces
Welcome to our TWIGS page where you will find lots of useful information about how to look after our outdoor spaces! TWIGS is our gardening club in school.
During the closure, children of key workers who are in school will be involved in tidying up the garden and planting new seeds. They must bring appropriate clothing - welly boots and gardening gloves so that they can assist with this. It is important to point out that the children will be following the rules of social distancing, even when outdoors, and observing correct hand washing afterwards in order to minimise the spread of germs.
On this page, we will also be giving you ideas for gardening with your child at home and teaching them how to care for their local environment. Working outdoors with your child teaches them lots of important lessons and can be very enjoyable! Outdoor learning is also an integral part of the school curriculum and has many health benefits for all children.
We will try to update this page soon with links and different things for you to try at home. We would love you to email pictures of you and your child involved in gardening projects!
